Flower infograph

Monday, November 13th, 2006

As you can see on the HTML-mockup, you can get a quick view of the status of a charity page by looking at the info graph:

Infograph charity page
  • The number of petals (in Dutch; bloemblaadjes) represents the number of support the charity has.
  • The size of the face represents the size of the organisation.
  • The emotion of the face represents the average evaluation by the community.

Here you view some infograph flowers sketches I made:

I wrote about this in an earlier article back in May:

“For this reason I’d like to present the search results with emoticon like icons. It’s simple; a happy face, means the charity is doing good. There is more information that could be added to this icon, like a representation of the number of supporter the charity has. I’m working on the details of how to design these icons.”

Do you think the flower communicates this information in a quick and easy to understand form? I’d love to hear your feedback.

HTML mock-up (2)

Friday, November 10th, 2006

I did some updates on the HTML mockup, The mock-up of the charity page is here. I’ll just have to change the bottom tabs to be the same as the top ones. I’d like to get some feedback on this charity page.

Then I think I’m about done for the charity page and I should focus on the start page and the personal page.

Besides the HTML mock-up, we’re also working on an alpha version of Helpalot that is not ready for public use.

Update 13 november ‘06: I lost the top orange bar, cleaned up the HTML and changed a number of small things. But that also broke some small things.

Meeting with Joitske

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

Yesterday I spoke with Joitske from IICD about Helpalot, development tools and much more. I really enjoyed the conversation, it’s nice to speak with people who have more experience in the field of non-profits and see how the concept holds. She wrote a blogpost about our conversation.

I also like to thank Erika from Dare to be an Angel for writing a nice blogpost and signing up for the beta testing and newsletter. People can sign up by going helpalot.org and fill in the form at the bottom of the page.
