HKU exposition

The exposition was great, everyone was enthusiastic bout the concept and it’s always nice to get direct feedback on your concept with people suggesting their own ideas.

A number of people suggested that it could be an integration of a working social network site. Because I want Helpalot to be used as a sort of search engine for charities fuelled by the social networking, I think purely integrating it into another social network site breaks with that goal. I do agree that some sort of collaboration with social network sites is a good idea.

Maybe because I was luring people to my stand with some candy, I got the suggestion that Helpalot would also be great for kids. I have to do some extra thinking on how I can create extra value for children without breaking the concept for the adults. For the first version of the site it is best to focus on the main goals, but it is certainly something for the future.

Other suggestions included flyering at the Mundial Festival, making contact with NCDO and many more tips on how to reach more charities.

I’ve talked with animators about a short animation for Helpalot to be used online to explain the concept and I informed about a web-game about Sir Helpalot. I’m working out the system of Friends of Helpalot to generate more money and effort helping the project. I’ll elaborate about that in a later post, but if you think you might be able to help the project right now in any way, please get in contact with me.

I’ll be posting more about the exposition later (I have to ask a friend for the pictures first), right now I can give you the flyer and presentation I used:
