Small update: I added ‘Helpalot on the web’ category of links on the right sidebar.
For the test version I’m writing down exactly what should be on every page. This takes a lot of time, but will make it easier to start building later on.
On Ning it is possible to litteraly copy and paste a site and just change the subject. So I copied a review site and set the subject on charities. This took me only 2 minutes, nope, I am not kidding.
This is not my main test version, my test version will probably take another month or so. For now, this pre-test version can give some good feedback for the evaluation part of the Helpalot concept.
The trick with Ning is that you can have a personal page on Ning and then you are able to login for every site made with Ning. Also you can easily build your own site.
So there is not really a personal page where you can set what charities you support (one of the important elements of the Helpalot concept), but you can evaluate.

Feel free to play around with it. I’m not going to spend much time there, because I have to prepare for my Mock exams next friday and my presentation at SIGCHI for 8 of june.
Yet another logo, this time a little less aggressive. I tried to make it a little bit more ‘loveable’, without making it a whimp..
I got bored with the grey one. So I added color and shadow to see how that looked. Still, the shape is not fixed yet. But I feel it’s getting close.

Feedback would be nice.
Another version of the Helpalot knight.

Now it looks a little more tough. Maybe a little bit too tough for a charity site?
For comparison, here’s the version I started off with.
My EMMA (European Media Master of Arts, emma.hku.nl) consists of a group project (done, www.blockblazers.nl), a personal project (Helpalot) and a thesis.
My thesis question:
What does the new digital dimension of social networks bring about in the way an individual can influence its social context?
